Re: Comprehensive Review Report Information Session April 22, 2015 Emmanuel United Church , 4:00-6 :00 pm, and continuing 6:45 to 8:15 p.m.

After two years of intensive study and consultation, the Comprehensive Review Task Group is recommending major changes to The United Church of Canada that would revitalize and nurture a range of ministries, simplify governance and administration, and enable the church to live within its resources.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, Executive Secretary of London Conference Cheryl-Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa will be in Algoma to provide information and answer questions you may have about the recommendations being made.

The information session will be held at Emmanuel United Church, 224 Bennett Boulevard, Sault Ste. Marie, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, breaking for a light pizza supper (paid for by the Presbytery), and continuing from 6:45 to 8:15 pm. Cheryl-Ann felt that she would require that length of time to do justice to the report, and to help congregations and members of Presbytery understand the changes in time for them to be able to respond through the proposal process if they wish to do so.  Because of the profound impact these recommendations will have on The United Church, presbyters, council/board members and members of congregations are encouraged to read the report on-line, and come to this open session.
